Washington, DC — Today, David Wu announced his year-to-date fundraising totals, one of the strongest first quarters of his career. Exceeding even the most aggressive goals, Wu's $219,000 in contributions – and $172,000 cash on hand – demonstrates broad support and confidence in his ability to effectively serve his constituents.
"Now more than ever, Oregonians need a congressman who will grow our innovation economy and fight for high-paying, private-sector jobs," Wu said. "At the same time, I am standing up to the Republicans' plans to privatize Medicare and attack women's health."
No Oregon representative in Congress has raised more in an off-year first quarter since 2003, when David Wu raised $227,000.
His fundraising success comes at a time when two of his signature pieces of legislation – bills that boost small business innovation and natural hazards preparedness – are moving steadily through the House of Representatives.
