David Wu's first priority is helping unemployed and underemployed Oregonians find quality jobs. He is focused on bringing growth-sector industries to Oregon while providing tax incentives to grow small businesses.
David Wu is working hard to educate tomorrow's leaders. He has successfully fought to make textbooks more affordable, expand access to higher education, and strengthen specialty jobs training programs.
As chairman of the House Subcommittee on Technology and Innovation, David Wu plays a key role in shaping policy that encourages private-sector innovation in green technologies. He is working to ensure that northwest Oregon continues to grow as a leader in this arena.
Portland, Ore. — Congressman David Wu's second television ad of the 2010 cycle highlights his work creating jobs in Oregon's 1st Congressional District.
As they fill out their ballots, voters in the 1st Congressional District will have the opportunity to support David Wu's proven track record of putting Oregon families and small businesses on the road to recovery.
"David Wu has spent his career helping entrepreneurs turn cutting-edge ideas into new products, services, and jobs," says Julia Louise Krahe, Wu campaign spokesperson. "Both as a high-tech lawyer and as a member of Congress, David has made growing Oregon's economy his number one priority. By contrast, Rob Cornilles said that he would have voted against legislation that ended tax loopholes for companies that ship jobs overseas and preserved 2,000 jobs for Oregon teachers. That's not the kind of leadership that will create the high-wage, private-sector jobs that middle-class families deserve.
"Oregonians know that David has been a hard-working representative of their values, and many of them also know that he's a bit of a technology geek. This spunky ad should be a nice break from all the negativity on the airwaves and help voters get to know David even better."
